Danny Pirx is the son of Stanislaw Lem's Pirx the Pilot. He drives around the solar system in a converted Peugeot 205 knocking out suspect eighths. He's not ballsy enough to MC unless it's just him in the motor, but once he’s flowing can invent five languages just waiting for the petrol pump. Can get you to Jupiter and back faster than any of your mates.

The Double is full of the familiar – 2-step hip-wiggle, Detroit funk, classic rave, subliminal ripples of jungle – but it’s not a retro remake or a gentrified fancy version of anything. Rather it’s the fevered imagination of an electronic polyglot, all the languages of the soundsystem flowing together in the hyperreal FM and additive synth sound worlds where randomness and repetition meet. It is ultra advanced electronica AND direct-to-the-dancefloor instant action fun at the same time. And it is magic. From the flickering, almost totally virtual breakbeats of “South Transposition” to the rock solid acid house boof of “Orange and Blue”, from the UKG for spiders of “Matchbox Eyes” to the fairground rave of “Flipper”, it’s full of total, weird, joy.
